Biography and Contact

My primary research interest is the presentation of the right-to-life issues of abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia in literature; most of my publications are available in conference proceedings and on the web. I have presented and published nearly a hundred papers on these topics at various colleges and universities, including the American University of Rome (2015), Fordham University (2014), Franciscan University of Steubenville (2019), and Harvard University (2010, 2011, and 2012). I am the author of An Ethical Analysis of the Portrayal of Abortion in American Fiction: Dreiser, Hemingway, Faulkner, Dos Passos, Brautigan, and Irving (Edwin Mellen, 2005) and Testament to a Niagara Obsession (Spare Change Press; Ten Leaves Poetry Series, 2014). A monograph on right-to-life literary theory is under publisher review.

I have taught Academic Skills for undergraduate and graduate students, Communications, undergraduate and graduate English, and Humanities courses since 1989 at several colleges and universities in the Cleveland, Columbus, and Springfield, Ohio metropolitan areas.  My most recent administrative position was Campus College Chair for three colleges (the College of Humanities, the College of Natural Sciences, and the College of Social Sciences) from 2005-2011 at the Columbus, Ohio Campus of the University of Phoenix.  In 2009 I was appointed one of twelve senior research fellows for Apollo Group, the for-profit company that owns the University of Phoenix.  My most recent teaching position was Associate Professor of English at the Cleveland, Ohio Campus of South University.  In 2013 I was appointed as a Curriculum Scholar for South University.

In March 2015, I was nominated for the Outstanding Teaching Award at Notre Dame College (Ohio).  In February 2018, I was awarded funding from the Center for Teaching Excellence at Lorain County Community College for literary research.

I am president and founder of Koloze Consultants, whose objective is to assist faculty and students “to conduct research on the life issues for presentation and publication.”  I invite colleagues and students to join me on Facebook, Gab, GETTR, Parler, and Twitter.

The following document is my curriculum vitae (CV), a complete list of paper presentations, publications, teaching, college and university administrative positions held, and other items in my career.
